Her pale green eyes seemed to twinkle as she listened to him, her smile ever present but it did edge down for a second when he complimented her. Briefly she thought of her old life, when she had been young, naive, before she had been forced to realize how absolutely stupid she was. Back then she had been free and rarely had a care in the world outside of the duties of her pack. She could take the time to appreciate her appearance, care for her fur, able to focus on smoothing the thick locks and ensuring its cleanliness but now? Well her fur was a bit more unruly though she did try to keep it clean, and her skin was marred with scars where before it had been smooth. She had once been a princess in simple terms but now she was a warrior. It all felt so...different in the way it seemed like she had been two different entities and not one that lead into the other.
"You're welcome," she replied, pulling herself from her languishing thoughts, "I couldn't just let you...give up, having once been in that position myself." She admitted, the time before her Guild had been...unkind but it took her to where she needed to be now. "What have you been up to since the last time we had met? What's brought about this change of yours?" She asked, suddenly wanting to change the subject.

Timber's eyebrow rose at the grin that stretched across the mans face but was unable to stop herself from returning it with her own, feeling the familiar tug of her scars across her maw as they were forced to move with the gesture. "Well darn it, what good am I if I can't go around saving others?" She teased, tail flickering behind her as she closed the distance but her gaze narrowed at his question.
She sighed, shaking her head, "hmmm..." she responded without argument, leaning in and acting like she was really inspecting him. Though their meeting had been long ago she still remembered bits of their conversation and how he had looked before...remembered enough to see how much of him had changed, and for the better it seemed. "You look absolutely hideous," she teased, her smile breaking out across her face again, erasing that serious look. "I think you might look better if I do this." She said, closing her eyes with a snicker before they popped back open. "Really though, you look good since we last met."

Since the water had returned and the Guild had been accepted to these lands Timber continued to busy herself. She rested only when she needed to, finding secluded spots to call home for the night, then moved on, refilling the Guilds caches throughout the lands and today was no different from all the others. As she roamed this realm she had started to gain familiarity with the landscapes, knowing where to avoid and where she could freely hunt and gather. The Guild was still growing and trying to gain stability, but it all took time and all she could do was hope and continue to provide, letting her responsibilities chase away the memories that plagued her dreams.
A soft sigh escaped her as she took a few steps into an area that held a new memory that wasn't too rotten. A dark pelt stuck in the much flashed before her and she wondered where that wolf was, she hoped that wherever he had ended up he had found somewhere to belong. She lifted her head towards the sky but as she did so something caught her eye, making her head snap back down, focusing in on a figure that seemed to be conjured from her thoughts. Slowly she started to approach, gaze narrowing slowly before calling out. "Don't tell me you're stuck again." Her voice was hoarse from lack of use but her eyes glinted. Unlike before there wasn't nasty muck all about but she couldn't stop herself from trying to joke.

As much as she tried to calm herself down, tell herself that she was here for a service that this man provided, she couldn't stop the anxious jitters and thrumming heart palpitations that made her want to turn tail and run-well-hobble away. Even though she told herself he wasn't a threat the anxiety built the closer her got, rooting her in place. Besides her Dandy edged closer, her velvety ears draping down, brushing against Flora's uninjured paw, the touch bringing the fae back into the present and hoping that she wasn't make herself look like a neurotic fool.
Flora's gaze darted down to Razun for a moment, seeing Dandy tilt her head in a way of greeting, which made her smile until she spotted dark fur from the corner of her eye and once again focused on Hollow, seeing him much closer than she had anticipated, making her breathe catch in her throat as she watched him inspect her injured paw. Flora was much more used to dealing with other animals rather than her peers and found her mouth going dry from the interaction until he spoke. "Oh," she winced when her voice came out as a croak and coughed, trying to cover the embarrassing sound, "it just happened, I was clumsy." She grimaced, "I tried to get it out but I think I made it much, much worse." She explained.

Though her face remained with its gentle ease Silver's body still held a stiffness in her muscles, ready to leap out of the way in case something were to go wrong. She didn't believe-or want to believe that any form of physical altercation would break out between her and Leo but years of living with her own siblings made old habits that might as well have been engrained in her DNA, die hard. She almost let loose a sigh of relief when something in Leocadio seemed to shift as he laid on on the floor. Silver still didn't dare to enter the den, instead she sat at the cusp of its entrance as she continued to peer down at him.
A huff came from her side, reminding her that Wynd was at her side but instead of growling and sneering the grumpy badger settled at her side, chin resting on his front paws. Silver's tail curved around the back of her tafa. Even though Wynd was gruff and tense she could always find comfort and reassurance in his presence. The two could always maintain their balance, a balance that reminded her of how thankful she was to have a tafa.
"I am here," she started, gaze drifting back to the male in the shadows, "to hear your side of the story. I am not so quick to buy into the gossip." She said, refraining from rolling her eyes no matter how hard she wanted to. Sometimes it felt like she was dealing with pups instead of fully grown Shepherds. Sometimes the annoyance just deepened that wish to run away across the border and never look back.

A frown pulled down at the corner of her lips as Leocadio's words reached her. Her brows furrowed as he denied her and deep in her chest she felt a piece of her heart chip. She tried brushing away that ache, she should be used to it, others assuming how she felt, trying to shove their ideas of who she should be onto her. Briefly she thought of her parents and their harsh eyes, even harsher words, and even worst strikes on her flesh for not being their ideal child. The scars still hid underneath her snowy coat, refusing to be seen, her refusing to let anyone see them.
"I have no reason to lie to you," She responded, bringing her gaze to meet his as she continued to stand her ground. Her eyes held a softness to them but it was not pity, there was some concern there but overall...a truth sat there. A truth she doubted he would-or could-ever accept. "I would not lie to you, there is no point in trying to trick you into anything."

Silver remained quiet as Leocadio spoke, her head tilting slight to the side as he assumed she'd heard enough. She hoped her expression stayed neutral as she watched her, let him speak as he wanted until it seemed to register to him what she had said.
A hint of a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth but she did her best to suppress it, not wanting to reignite the animosity that had surprisingly seemed to die down. "Because it's not how I am," she said, voice softening. She wanted to say more, to emphasize with him, but held her tongue for what was the worst then that could happen to someone who was lucky enough to be titled as the Anima. Such a name made it easy to overlook how poorly her family had treated her.

Brows the color of moonlight rose from his response, how could she have expected any less of a response? "I have heard," she admitted as she gazed back him, "but I am not here to punish as you say. Merely I have come on the hunt of the truth for the stories given to me have been...mixed and it's only fair to hear your side." She told him, voice remaining cool, opposite of his growl. She didn't take offense to this, tensions were high and it was only a matter of time until some sort of scuffle occurred.
"I was hoping you would at least think that I'd give you a chance instead of running on assumptions." She couldn't help herself from teasing him just a bit, though unsure of how he would respond. If he lashed out at her perhaps she would let him...then again the fall out from the word of that happening...no, she wouldn't consider that.

Silver watched as the young girl seemed to start connecting the dots, a smile threatening to spill on her maw but she kept it back, her face remaining stoic. "My name is Silver, and as you already know, this ragamuffin is Wynd, it is...good to meet you." She ventured to add, not sending danger from the girl before her. "Follow me." She stepped past the dark pelted wolf, taking steps in the direction away from the pack lands. Farther away hopefully meant less of a chance of being caught by a guard.
She walked in silence for a few moments before her curiosity peaked. "You were following a bird," she started, "but otherwise...what drew you here? Where are you from?" She asked, unable to scent a near by pack on Raven and wondered if she was truly a lone wanderer. That type of life sounded lonely but also...freeing...how many times had that idea crossed her mind? She'd had dreams of running past the borders and never coming back but her sense of duty kept her here, chained, trying to make the best of it even though some days were harder than the last.

Flora had done as she always had, gotten up in the morning and gone out to tend to the gardens, well, at least that's what her plans had but as always she had gotten distracted on her way, stopping to chat with friends or even to see the Tafa, getting as close as the Shepherds allowed until she finally got to the garden and set to work.
When she was able to focus the girl was quick to the task but just as luck would have it as soon as she got to work she didn't last long before hurting herself. That was the thing in the garden, it could be fun and easy work but if one was to get too carried away, such as Flora, they became more apt to injury from the more pointier foliage. With her misshaped paw pads she had a habit of stumbling and unfortunately for his today meant that she stumbled into some rather...thorn flowers and though no matter how much she tried to pull out the thorn she only managed to get it dug in deeper, not even her Tafa, a sweet bunny named Dandy, could manage to get it out which left her only one option...a healer.
It would be a lie to say that Flora wasn't intimidated by the dark healer that the others spoke highly about for his knowledge. He had deep eyes and an air about him that made her nervous but she couldn't ignore the pain so eventually she plucked up the courage, searching the dark male, almost giving up until she spotted him nearing the river. She caught up to him the best she could but the second he noticed her she found herself frozen until he addressed her. "Oh," the sound was more a squeak than she had meant it to be, "um...yes...please." She lifted her paw a bit off the ground.

When Artemis started speaking of dens to return to a frown crossed Zero's narrow face, he didn't want to think about that, he didn't want to go back to those Vertok lands and be treated like a baby. He was ready to huff and argue to stay but before he could get the words out Artemis was continuing and he was left to listen.
Her voice took hold of his attention, ears pricking forward as she explained the rules to this new set up. He nodded in response, watching her turn away. He put all his being into concentrating, which was still a difficult task for such a young boy.
He waited for a moment, wanting to launch himself but he stilled for a moment, jaw clenching before he finally started to run, he had to consider where he could actually reach her instead of just going in all willy-nilly so he focused on her flank, paws picking up momentum though he could feel the strain on his lungs but still tried to push on, launching himself upward, soaring through the air and hitting Artemis on her rear flank, nails digging into her fur as he snapped at her again but despite his determination he could feel himself starting to slide down and tried to keep hold but it left him scrabbling on the dames fur.

Of course everything had to happen when the Anima was absent. Silver had been off tending to her other duties when the words of a fight having broken out reached her, sending both her and Wynd rushing to the spot, but by the time she had gotten there all she had to witness were the remnants of the fight with splattering of blood and those who had witnessed the fight whispering about what had transpired but the second they saw their snowy Anima they went silent but the silence didn't last as she started to question them. Her blood started to boil as different stories were told to her, some saying the Leo had been unprovoked and very few saying the victimized wolf had deserved what had happened.
She shook her head as she listened, turning away and starting the trek to Leocadio's den. She wasn't sure how he would react to her presence but she couldn't bring herself to leave things as they were. Besides her Wynd grumbled, leaving her to roll her eyes at him. "You don't have to come along," she told him but with the look he gaze her she could tell he wasn't going to just leave her so the two continued on their way.
When they got to Leo's den Wynd, with his usual gruff growl, went off, sitting to the side of the entrance while Silver lowered her head, peering inside but didn't take any steps. She cleared her throat, ears tipped forward, "Leocadio?"

A bird? Silver's gaze flickered upwards but she didn't see a bird, perhaps she had missed it or perhaps it wasn't there at all though something, some kind of feeling, whispered to her that that wasn't the case. She wasn't sensing any malice as she turned her attention back to the girl before her. "You haven't crossed the border but my pack...does not approve of anyone drawing near, it's dangerous to toe the line." She warned, watching as the other looked at Wynd, seeming to perk up as she threw out her question, further softening the Anima's demeanor.
"His name is Wynd," she explained with a gentler tone, leaning down and nudging the back of the still grumbling beasts head, causing him to spin, glaring up at her. She returned his look of ire with amusement and fondness on her face. "Oh stop you curmudgeon," she chided before looking back at the stranger, momentarily hesitating.
"If you wish to know about him," she said slowly, "perhaps...we could move farther from the border and I will answer your questions to the best of my ability." She knew it was risky but she felt that she wasn't doing anything that was incredibly dangerous, she didn't sense any aggression or scent others readying a trap.

Her brow cocked at the expression of the little pup before her. An ornery one, she could already tell from the steely look on her face and the air she gave. It was a bit amusing to the old dame. The little thing could be as intimidating as she believed she was but it wasn't going to sway her. Moro had years of experience dealing with those so demanding, hell, the biggest thorn in her side was formed by none other than their leader who seemed to find annoying Moro one of her few pleasures. A pleasure that Moro didn't give into easily, hating to see the satisfaction on the Artemis's face.
"You demand me?" She asked with a hint of amusement to her gravely tone, "how interesting and who are you to demand me small one?" She replied, gaze flickering over the scab on the younglings chin, assessing as they spoke but making no move to find the remedy that would take care of such an ailment. "I may or may not be able to fix it."

The closer he was able to get to his teacher the more excitement raced through Zero at the promise of being able to land some kind of blow. He did his best trying to contain that energy to push him forward, to the moment he pushed off from the ground and in his mind, soared like an eagle, towards his target. His eyes locked onto Artemis but to his dismay, at the last second, she turned and he was sure he was going to miss until to his great pleasure, he felt his teeth make contact and the smallest twinge of copper touched his tongue before he crashed to the ground.
His shoulder his first and he went rolling in a small cloud of dust that settled just a bit after he came to a stop, lifting his head as the world seemed to spin and his tongue brushed over his teeth but that taste from before was already fading but...it seemed to awaken something, the want for more and a bit of pride as he saw that white pelt marred with the tiniest bit of red.
"I did it!" He yipped, launching to his paws like his legs were made of springs. "Again! I need to do more!"
