[googlefont=Montserrat:400,700|Cardo:400] [attr="class","arsacolorsshiningquote1"]we're all just stars colliding [attr="class","arsacolorsshiningquote2"]imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsacolorsshiningtext"]Another inhale — more underbrush and animals long past. His big nose was pressed to the ground as he moved along in a steady fashion, his mind focused on one goal: locating the leader of the mysterious guild he and Revan had spent one night talking about. He had no memory of Revan giving him their name which Arsa felt was slightly shameful on his own behalf, searching for a leader of a group he did not know the name of. He at least did know what they were about, which he found ever more intriguing. And, reminded him of the guild he was once in. Diverse, specialties, hired assignments. He chuckled to himself. The Magister Guild was certainly a colorful cast and he had no doubts that the one he was targeting was no different. There was a sliver of him that longed for it to be different; that longed for it to hold some semblance of home. But, he knew he held onto a lot of hopes, some that were too far out of reach, too unrealistic, especially for him. It was far-fetched. There was no place to call home. He had to learn to devote himself to not one singular entity, but everyone simultaneously. Yet here Arsa was, continuing his search for a woman whose name and face he did not know, searching for a guild that he only knew of thanks to his best friend. But that gave his search more meaning. Tangible meaning. It was rare Revan gave anyone his regards so the very fact he came to him expressing his interest and even asking him if would, too, be interested, made his chest swell. Did… he even deserve such consideration? Whether he believed he did or not didn’t weaken his resolve to set out on his search which is what occupied his time the previous few days. The pinkish sun guided him from the sparse, young forest up north to one much denser where the early light flickered in through the canopy, dappling the ground as the faint stars did in the dark sky above. He was less familiar with this forest and though he had a mission, his being in it was a fine excuse to explore it on his own even if he would have preferred to be in the company of another. A flash of red drew him from his haze as he looked up at it. An insignia on a tree? It was a half circle, reminiscent of a crescent moon. The more Arsa looked around, the more he noticed that there was a small cluster of them strewn about, the insignias all varying in shape but staying in either a circular pattern or claw marks. Curiosity compelled him forward to one of the marked trees, one with a half circle on it, and he sniffed it experimentally. A distant scent clung to it but it was indiscernible. Could they relate to the guild, he wondered. Perhaps signify their specialties? In that case, what did they mean? He turned his focus from the red circle to the others and before he could approach them, a nearby mound of dirt caught his eye. What was this about? Before Arsa could think twice on the matter he stuck his nose to it and gave it a careful tug to displace the dirt before going on to uncover what lay beneath. He went slow, not wanting to damage what was potentially in it, and he was glad he did. Inside were scraps of meat and… herbs. Not a lot. He looked back at the half circle. Did it indicate what was buried here? As far as he was knowledgeable, none of the packs practiced this and he quickly concluded it had to be the work of the guild. A slight panic struck him — these caches probably were not meant for someone like him to discover, but as he began to carefully and quickly cover it up with dirt he made a mental note of its contents. I was made to rise above it Another day passed only to be repeated with the same actions and slowly Timber felt herself become restless. Yes she loved her Guild and the freedom it gave her but spending most her days refilling the Guild caches and wandering the drying earth of the valley was becoming monotonous. It was few and far between that she met other wolves now, even those of her Guild and the lack of distraction was making her become surrounded by her thoughts-something she liked to avoid. If she could keep busy she could keep them at bay but with repeating the same actions it was becoming easier and easier to slip under the waves of negativity and memories of the life she had lost, threatening to put her into a sour mood.
The earth toned dame continued though, working on in her monotony in hopes that maybe something exciting would happen to shake things up. She carried herbs in her mouth, eyes stinging from the sharp aroma but she continued on, focusing on her paw steps instead of the stench. One thing she could be thankful of for these daily tasks is that it helped her become familiar with the land to the point that she didn't need to consult her land marks as she went, soon entering the clearing of her destination where her monotony was finally broken when her gaze caught on that of another wolf who was larger than she and had fur that laid in such a way it made her feel a wave of envy.
She came to a stop, for a moment stunned as she looked at the other until her eyes darted to the open cache in front of him, it was covered but the earth was freshly overturned as if they were trying to cover up whatever they were doing. The herbs dropped from Timbers mouth as she regarded the situation, nose scrunching slightly, "curiosity got the better of you?"

A voice struck him out of his daze as he stared at the freshly buried cache, ochre eyes darting to a silhouette who was not there a moment ago. A woman asked him if curiosity got the better of him but he was too captivated by the face who stared back to give an immediate answer. She was not quite as tall as him but she was no doubt strong, the vicious scars on her nose highlighted by red markings—similar to that of the marked trees nearby. She was who he was searching for. It was an educated guess but one that he was almost certain of. A shy chuckle escaped Arsa as he took a polite step back, straightening his posture a little. Extending an elegant paw out in greeting he lightheartedly jested, “Has the angel of vengeance come to strike me down?” His tone was characteristically soothing but the sheepish, apologetic expression on his youthful face indicated he was aware of his wrongdoing. “These are your guild’s, right? My apologies. Curiosity is quite a drug.” He dipped his head respectfully. Not quite the first impression he wanted to make to the leader of the guild his best friend so eagerly—in his own way—told him about. The herbs she had dropped didn’t escape his attention either. She was likely coming to refill the caches. When he raised his head he locked eyes with her again, a soft smile breaking onto his maw. “You were actually the one I’ve been searching for. A dear friend told me about your guild and, I guess you could say I’m drugged.” Another shy chuckle. He wanted to lay himself bare, both as an apology and also to show her he meant her no harm. He thought back to Revan who he had split up from just hours ago as they had set out in search of the woman who now stood in front of him. Perhaps fate brought him here. He took a couple more steps back from the cache so that she had enough room to approach it comfortably. “Do you have some time to spare with me?”[attr="class","arsacolorsshiningtan"] Bri [attr="class","arsacolorsshiningquote3"]we're after the same [attr="class","arsacolorsshiningquote4"]happily ever after |

I was made to rise above it Timber stared back at the man who seemed to be taking his time to respond. Her olive eyes narrowing without thought as her body braced for potential attack. Despite how kind someone may look she knew better than to let down her guard. She had spent time getting to know her mate, falling in love with him as she got to know him intimately, or at least that's what she had thought until he tried to murder her, leaving her body-and trust-marred, tarnished. Blackened.
She was about to open her maw to repeat herself when the man chuckled and stepped away, but still her muscles were taunt, ready for a fight. Her ears swiveled, straining for any signs of ambush but when nothing was caught they swiveled back to the man before her as he spoke.
Angel of vengeance? That almost got a smile out of her but her expression remained neutral. "You know of my guild..." she allowed herself to speak again, words slow as she considered what he said and what it could mean. After letting her presence be known at that meeting she had anticipated the potential of word being spread but to have someone actively looking for her...she would have to remind herself to stay more on guard than ever before.
His gaze caught hers in a way that stopped that guard before it could raise higher, making her throat clench as he spoke again. How could someone in this world on their own be so gentle? She could be gentle, but when first meeting a stranger that could be determined a threat? Any idea of gentleness was gone until more information could be gathered. "A friend? Who may that be? I meet many in this valley." The later part may have been a lie but the brute before her didn't need to know that. She tore her eyes from his, taking in the mans form, assessing him in case things went side ways, "I suppose I do have time to spare. What is it that you need stranger?"

"You know of my guild..." He gave a polite nod, internally relieved to have guessed correctly. Though his focus remained on her scarred face, he could tell she was uneasy. Body tense, eyes cautious as she searched him for signs of hostility or a change in demeanor. A reaction he often received from others, one he has grown used to seeing, but each time he would be careful to disarm the unease. She had every right to be, after all. She and her guild were new to the valley, and though his knowledge was limited, he wasn’t sure the settling packs were taking to their arrival so strongly. His eyes briefly moved to the scars on her muzzle. Highlighted in red to draw attention to them, they reminded him of the scars that marked his past lover. Whatever, or whoever gave her them, probably intended for them to forever pin her as weak; to remind her of her inadequacies. Or to be her last. On the woman who stood in front of him, “weak” was the last that crossed his mind. Scars were a beacon of strength; a story that told a thousand words, and he felt unquestionably compelled to listen. She asked who his friend might be, which drew Arsa from his thoughts as he returned her gaze once more, that same gentle smile on his lips. “His name is Revan. Striking ruby eyes and copper fur. You met him not long ago.” His smile widened slightly before he chuckled, a warm sound resonating in his chest. “I hope he didn’t cause you trouble. He isn’t one to be easily impressed… but your guild caught his attention. I felt I couldn’t overlook that.” His curiosity and wonderment were palpable as he spoke. He could feel the warmth of the early sun peeking through the clustered trees, illuminating the area with a soft yellow glow. Arsa offered the woman another polite dip of his head as she said she had time to spare. “I am grateful,” he added sincerely. What was it that he needed? He paused for a moment to look at her. “I… want a conversation. I want to know about your guild.” Finally, he sat down on a nearby patch of grass. A comfortable distance away from the woman and the caches so that she could go about her business, hopefully without too much worry on her behalf, but still close enough that they could talk. I was made to rise above it It was almost as if she could feel his gaze on her as it drifted to the scars of her muzzle. Painting them with red had been a way for her to overcome the shame and pain that they held for her, turning them into a recognizable brand that was supposed to carry strength but there were times, like this, where she found herself wishing she hadn't, the looks, no matter what emotion they held, crawling under her skin. Instead of shrinking away she stood a bit straighter, stiffening at her shoulders.
Her face was passive...until the man said the name of a strange wolf she had met, her eyebrow quirking up. "Revan...yes, I remember him." She admitted, their interaction had been brief but one that had burned into her brain from how...odd it had been. She was a bit surprised that someone like the one in front of him was associated with someone like that, but she tried not to judge. "Trouble? More like confusion." She allowed herself to joke, finally sitting back on her haunches but keeping her distance.
The warmth of the sun settled on her, making her give the softest of sighs as she continued to listen to the man before her, looking back at him. "You want to know about my guild..." she repeated slowly, it was rare she was sought out and it took her moment to gather herself, "we go by the name of Mercurior...did your friend not share what I had told him?" She asked with a bit of a teasing tone to her voice, the herbs at her side now forgotten. "Tell me, what is your name?"

When she answered his question with a jest regarding Revan, he could not stifle the chuckle that rose from his chest; a warm and amused sound. That sounded just like him, he thought. “Thank you for taking care of him during your meeting. He shows it in his own way, but he means well.” Perhaps something the woman would be unable to see at first, but Arsa hoped through his best friend’s hard work she would understand. When she repeated his question back to him, he gave her a solid nod as he leaned in ever so slightly closer, an involuntary response. Had Revan not told him the guild’s name? He paused for a moment, quickly combing through the past interactions with him. The name Mercurior was completely foreign and he was positive he would remember a name like that if it had been said to him. Perhaps caught off guard momentarily, Arsa’s smile widened with amusement. “He is a man of many mysteries… and it seems the name of your guild is among them,” he jested. He made a mental note to ask Revan when they would rendezvous sometime later, already envisioning the teasing conversation that could ensue. She asked for his name. “I am Arsa, a nomadic healer. I come from outside of this valley.” He eased back onto his haunches. “And to whom do I owe the pleasure?” It was a purposefully extravagantly worded question to ask in return, the teasing tone evident in his voice; another means to hopefully lighten the conversation. Timbers head tilted ever so slightly when the male chuckled at her recount of interaction with Revan and thanking her for what she had done. She didn't think she had done anything too crazy to help him out, but if it was regarded as positive she wouldn't deny it. "I suppose you're welcome then," she said with a small smile, the action pulling her scars a back a bit, discomfort tugging at her face but as always she acted as if none of the feeling existed, reminding her of her mauled face and the memories it held.
As he leaned closer she stiffened, the action involuntarily as she eyed him. Even as her psyche whispered that she wasn't in harms way her body refused to acknowledge this, remaining ready for any possibility of attack. "I see...well, I am Timber, the Lord of Mercurior...and also an outsider to this valley." She admitted, wondering if this was really some kind of pleasure, them meeting when it snapped into her that he was meaning it as a joke, her small smile remaining.
