There was a part of her that had been itching for this day to come. A part of her that knew what was beginning, and she was ready for it. She had been thinking about this day since the moment she left that hill, returning to her rowdy pack of heathens. All that she could do until the day came was wait and guess what may happen. What would he say? What would he ask? Would he expect anything from her? Time would tell. And finally, it came. It had been difficult to convince her Aces to remain behind. Well, not quite behind. They were around. But they were instructed to keep their distance, to focus on setting the boundaries of the pack’s territory. If she needed them, she would call. If she needed them, they would know. What she was doing out here beyond their borders? It was better they didn’t know for now.
Artemis was grateful for her white pelt in times like these, when she was mostly exposed to the sun. Thankfully, it was beginning to set in the far distance, though not enough to grow dark. Just as last time. The giant white wolfess laid on the same hill she had stood upon almost a week prior, tail flicking on occasion. The tall and mostly golden grass that surrounded her gave her a good bit of cover, so at least she would not overheat during her wait. Her golden eyes were narrowed, watching attentively in the direction of the mountains.
Come now, little owl. I am holding up my end of the deal. It is your turn.
She knew he would come. That she was certain of. That look of wonder and hope in those little eyes as she told glorified tales of the Sanzin, the way he so desperately craved more stories, more information from her. He was a sprout, a little tree growing on a hill, waiting eagerly for the looming clouds in the sky to bring water. To feed it, to nourish it, to give it what it so desperately needed: growth. It was a deeply-rooted ball of prideful fire that formed in her chest knowing that she was that cloud. She was the one who would give the sprout water. She would be the one to help him grow. He wanted to be a big and strong tree, and that's exactly what she would make him.
With a yawn, the Suitess of the Sanzin watched on with a focused eye, waiting for any sign of movement, any flash of white fur. 429 | Bri

Zero
Thoughts| "Spoken Word | Outside Speech | Abyss Zero had been counting down every minute of every hour of every day for this moment, his little body was thrumming with excitement and he felt like he was going to burst. Keeping this meeting a secret had been so hard. There had been moments he had been close to slipping to his sisters about how lucky he has, but he had been lucky enough to catch is tongue before uttering the words, though it often left his sisters confused-though to be fair, with his spastic personality was more often than not.
One the day of their meeting he was practically bouncing from paw to paw, it was hard to keep the excitement, the little boy rushed through his breakfast and waited for the perfect moment to disappear, luckily this drought-whatever that was-was doing a good job of keeping the grown ups distracted, including Ara. After they had finished eating she had been rushed off to help with something and his sister were so consumed in talking to each other that the pup was able to sneak away into the tall grass.
It took him a while though to find that spot, the grass wasn't as tall as before and everything seemed to be browner, the little boy had no idea what that meant, but was focused on trying to find his way when a scent caught his nose. For a moment it sent a chill up his spine, making him wonder what was out there but then it tickled his memory and all hesitation was gone. He bound through the grass, right back to the spot where he had met that woman from before, the woman that he wanted to be just as strong as. He looked around eagerly, gaze finally falling on her and grin spread across his maw. He bounced across the ground, skirting to a stop in front of the female and his tongue lolled out. "Hey! I made it!" He exclaimed.
I can see there's so much to learn It's all so close and yet so far

There it was: the flash of white she was looking for. She spotted him from a distance, a crooked smile forming on her maw. It was time. Time to feed the sprout.
As he noticed her and came bounding forward, she did not move from where she laid, adjusting her smile to be more welcoming. It was rather strange, finding herself eye-to-eye with the pup. Granted, even laying down she was a little bit bigger than him, but it was still strange. More often than not she had to look down at those around her, especially pups. Perhaps being lower would make herself more approachable. For now, at least.
“Indeed you have. Very good.” She offered a small nod to the little male. “This shows that you are responsible, a very worthy quality in a student.” Her words were intentional, though, that applied to all of what she said. Give him the idea, show him what could be, what he could be to her. He already very clearly looked up to her, if not found himself longing for the tales she told him. If she fed those desires, he would cling to her. But perhaps he already had. Such was the satisfaction of success.
“I don’t suppose you checked to ensure you were not followed? It would be rather unfortunate if someone came and whisked you away.” She let a sigh leave her maw, making herself almost look sad, maybe even worried. Had to be convincing. “Such a shame, the Vertok being so unfair towards their young.”
Golden orbs stared down the white pup, head tilting just slightly to the side. “Surely they value your wants just as much as their own?”
Of course they didn’t. They didn’t want their pups to wander off and end up killed. They saw pups as fragile little balls of fur. They didn’t have the same methods and ideologies as herself. Work with the little balls of clay, mold them, feed into their desires, make them what you want them to be. Give them what they want along the way, or even leave them eager for more, and they will always come back to you. It worked the first time she and Zero had met. And she knew it would work this time too. The Vertok…so blind.

It's all so close and yet so far The little boy gave Artemis a big nod. "I did make sure! All the grown ups keep talking about this thing called a drought, even Mother Ara is so distracted that I was able to run off without anyone noticing me, not even my sisters, but they're busy complaining too, it's so annoying."
He groaned, rolling his eyes to the sky, there had been a few times he had snapped at his sisters to shut up-only to be reprimanded, which was only more irritating. "Besides, no one even cares if I leave except my friends, but even then they're off doing other stuff most of the time." He grumbled.
Zero stared back up into Artemis's eyes, captivated by their color, he could only imagine what it kind of secrets she held behind them, what she could teach him that he could never learn anywhere else. "Nope, they don't care. They just want me to do everything they say, like go to bed early and watch everyone else train or go play around like a baby. I'm tired of it, I want to grow up, I want to do something. Shep is always pushing me around and I want to push him back and show him I can be strong." He added, wanting to show her that he was dedicated to this idea of training, plus he wanted to see Sheps face when he showed off his new fighting moves.

A large snowy ear flicked, a mixture of acknowledgement and irritation. ‘Something called a drought’? Did those fools not even teach their young what was happening? No one could deny that the Sanzin’s more brutal way of life wasn’t what most others considered “ideal” for pups, but at least they were realistic and taught them about the world. Judging by the way her little owl was so blind to his surroundings and the current state of his home, the Vertok really did see them as just useless little balls of fur, unworthy to be properly taught until a certain age. And she thought her pack was bad.
“Your family, they have not taught you what a drought is?” She shook her head, sighing in the process. “My my, they really do see their young as lambs…”
With his words, her eyes narrowed for only a moment at the word ‘friends’, though she tried not to think too much into it. Artemis was never one to grow so sentimental as to call anyone a ‘friend’ rather than a packmate. Having friends was pointless, for the chances of them betraying you when you inevitably have it better than them was greater. Not that any “friends” she may have once had would have compared to her anyway, but from what she knew of having friends, wasn’t a key trait that they made time for each other? Just how badly did this pup before her actually have it that neither his family or his friends paid any mind to him? A strange occurrence, she almost pitied Zero. But, this pity was quickly replaced with malignance. Don’t worry, little bird. I will be your friend. I will be your hero.
The way those little brown eyes looked to her, it was rather cute. The desperation for acceptance and adventure, such things she could give that his pack could not. It was a satisfying feeling to know that she held such power over another pack’s young; history did have a way of repeating itself, afterall.
“If I may, how old are you, little owl? You don’t appear as young as they seem to be treating you.”
He made mention of a name, a name she did not recognize of course. Shep? Perhaps a friend of his. Or, perhaps a peer would be a better word, seeing as his so-called friends didn’t bother to notice when the little white wolf disappeared from their home. Still, mentioning another by name, surely that meant this Shep held more importance than the others he made reference to. She took dull note of this name in her mind. She would come back to it. A small voice in her head spoke, wondering if many of the Vertok’s young were as curious and eager to wander as her little owl…
"Speaking." Thinking.

It's all so close and yet so far As Artemis spoke Zero listened, well as much as he could for just behind her a butterfly was fluttering and his couldn't keep his eyes off it. His muscles tensed as he resisted the urge to go running after it and pouncing.
"My family? Bah, Ara is just a pretend Mom, but she is always watching all the other babies." Zero muttered, thinking of the scatterbrained woman that seemed to have pups thrown at her every this way and that, so many that she could barely remember anyone's name, it was only at the end of the night that she seemed to have time for the three that were actually given to her as her own and by that time her eye lids were heavy with sleep and she was mumbling to them to behave. To anyone else the woman would look overworked but to Zero it felt like she didn't consider him important or care about him at all. "Sometimes she calls me by my sisters names!" He growled.
He bet Ara and his sisters would never notice him gone-which would be a good thing-but it would be nice if they got worried about him. At least that would show that they cared-or at least noticed him. But now, he looked up to the dame that had a fur almost the same color as his, and she seemed to care, she talked to him, looked in his eyes, she wanted to see him again after all.
"5 months," he said, pulling his attention back to Artemis, but that butterfly was floating just above her head, "but almost six months." He added, "Im almost bigger than all the other pups my age too." He grinned, showing his pristine white puppy teeth.

For a brief moment, her golden gaze narrowed at the pup, taking notice of the fact that he found himself distracted. Even so, he still answered her question, at least. He spoke of his apparent guardian with an air of distaste. The way he mentioned her attentiveness to the other pups was a curiosity. Did the Vertok dump off all of their children on a singular she-wolf, expecting her to look after and care for all of them on her own? On one paw this was almost amusing. Obviously this other she-wolf wasn’t great at her job if she failed to notice that any of them were missing. But, in a similar manner that caused her eyes to look sideways in annoyance, this was one topic it seemed she couldn’t quite top with the Vertok. Sanzin pups were typically cared for by their mothers until they could hold themselves up and just begin to eat softer food. Though there weren’t many, there were some mothers who chose to continue caring for their young until they were a little bit older. This was not something that was often looked down on, for it made sense to do so. But, after a certain point, most pups were left to their own devices. The period in between reaching the weaned phase and 1 year old was a difficult one, admittedly. They were still Zeroes, and were under her personal care as the Suit. But, something she could share with this ‘Ara’: she was only one wolf.
She ignored the pup’s growls of complaint, though she had her own in her mind. He hadn’t exactly answered her question. Instead, he pushed on to her next one, addressing his age. It made sense, he didn’t appear so young to be completely weak or helpless, but he also definitely was not nearing a year yet.
She nodded briefly to his answer, a tiny smirk crossing her maw at his comment. She could ask so many questions with their own intentions. Were many Vertok pups weak and small? Are they all around your age? How many are there? But she did not. Her little owl was quite the talker on his own with a little motivation. She could get lots of information from him in due time. For now, it was she who needed to teach him.
“Tell me, do you know what is happening around you? Why your pack’s adults are rather tense?” She glanced to the side, lifting her tail behind her and brushing it gently through the yellowed tall grass around them. “Why color and life have begun to leave the valley?”
She waited for a moment, checking for the pup to answer, before she continued her inquiry.
“If you should wish to learn about the world outside of the safety of your home, and the matters you are told you are too young for, I can teach you. It is only right that you are informed when it comes to your own wellbeing, afterall?” The question was innocent enough. But even she couldn’t deny that these words were not exaggerated.
The drought affected them all in one way or another, and it was not forgiving, even for young wolves. Adults could only prolong the effects for so long before it inevitably reached for the pups, those who were far more vulnerable to dying in said conditions. They could give their pups all the water they had. This would not save them.
"Speaking." Thinking.

It's all so close and yet so far Zero stared up at her, wondering why she was asking him about the valley. He was a pup, he didn't care much about what was going on, but he had overheard a few whispers. "I dunno," he shrugged, "something about water I guess." He said, but whatever excitement had been in his voice before was gone. Oh to be young, to not have to worry about issues bigger than you because there was always an adult around to take care of things. "They try to not tell us, but I sneak and heard things sometimes, but I don't get it. Water's every where, right?" He looked up at Artemis with his ears perked.
The promise of her teaching him about the world and what his pack refused to tell him was tempting, it was so much so that he couldn't resist. "Yeah, I wanna learn, I'm tired of being treated like a baby." He snorted in annoyance. "You're the only one who doesn't treat me like a baby, that's why I like you." He grinned at her, tail swinging back and forth in the dirt.
Such an innocent little thing, so naïve. He had no idea what path he was heading down, but even if he did, would that stop him? More than likely not. He wanted to be strong, to not have to rely on others like he was being forced to. Finally being treated like he was something more than a pup was a feeling that he didn't want to lose.

A part of her almost grew annoyed as the pup’s voice grew quieter and less enthusiastic. This was what he wanted, right? To learn about what his own would not teach him, what they hid from him? No, adult matters were not always fun, and she had a feeling that was what he sought after. But if he really did want to be an adult, he had to deal with the same realistic and unfun burdens that the rest of them did. Better he got used to it now before his hopes and dreams of what adulthood is like get crushed.
She took a deep breath, calming herself quietly as the pups naivety got the better of him. She put the smile back on her face, eyes remaining calm as the pup spoke of water and vague whispers he had heard from his adults. She waited to speak as he addressed her primary offer in the conversation. And, just as she had expected, the little brute wanted what she had to offer. She would be his teacher. And teach him she would.
A small chuckle fell from her maw at his final words. “I am flattered, little owl.”
Though just as quickly as the smile and the chuckle had appeared from her maw, they disappeared. “There is much for you to learn, and not all of it will be enjoyable. Adulthood isn’t all fun and games. But, ” she side-eyed the pup, a somewhat mischievous flash crossing her face. “One perk of it is the freedom. The ability to make choices without the influence of others to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. What you should or shouldn’t ask about, or learn about. So, little owl, I will give you your first choice, one you make completely on your own.”
She was silent for just a moment, her gaze turning to him.
“Would you like me to teach you about the drought happening to the valley around you, or…would you rather learn about something else of your own choice? The prey we wolves hunt, the history of the packs, our main sources of competition with other animals, our natural predators. It is all yours to ask about.”
"Speaking." Thinking.

It's all so close and yet so far Freedom. That was the exact thing that he wanted to have, it's what drove him out into the wilds in the first place, it was the force that brought him into this woman's clutches. A grasp that he was oh so eager to leap into. He stared up at her, a little frown crossing his face when she said it wouldn't be all fun and games but he continued to listen. She had spent so much time listening to him that he felt like he needed to listen to her. Artemis was the one adult that valued him and he wanted to show her the same devotion.
He hung on every word that she spoke as she gave him her offer. "I want to learn from you." He said without hesitation. "You're the only one who listens to me, I want to hear everything you have to say!" He spoke with eagerness, any idea of danger leaving his mind, he just wanted to grown stronger and he believed that she would play a big role in that.
"Tell me anything, everything, please." He whined to her, his energy making him shift from paw to paw as he continued to stare at her like she was the only sun in the sky. "I want to learn about how to be strong though," he finally solidified a thought, "I'm tired of being pushed around, I want to push back." His brows furrowed with determination, thinking of how great it would be to be able to hold his own in a wrestling match against his friend Shep, just to see the surprise in his eyes when he would finally pin him down.

A smile crossed the large ghost’s maw and those ever calculating golden eyes narrowed. She had lost his true attention for a moment, but it was rather easy to reel it back in, as she had already figured out quickly what this pup valued most. He desired freedom. He desired acknowledgement. He desired power. It was almost amusing how much he reminded her of herself. Or, rather, her past self, for she had already obtained those things for herself through sheer effort and strength. And, in the end, with her assistance of course, she knew that this young pup could do the same.
The very first words he spoke were all that she required. The little wolf was officially caught in her web, and she had no intentions of letting the opportunity pass by. No, in truth he was not the perfect specimen, for he was rather small, and her plan was beginning at a disadvantage, for it seemed as though his only true experience was gained by mere play-fights and eavesdropping. But the only way for him to go from here was up. And she would help him do that.
He was rather quick in his answer to her, though he did not exactly give a true answer. She understood that as much even without him speaking it so. He was a pup; of course he wanted to learn everything he possibly could. But there was only so much that she could teach in a small amount of time. The sun had already begun to set when she first arrived to their planned meeting spot, and now it had gone even lower than before. Perhaps a pup being missing could be explained by curiosity and adventuring during the day. But as night set in and the dangers that lurked in darkness came out to play, a young one being missing was far more noticeable. At least, she would have assumed things would be that way. She could, for once, be wrong and assuming too much of the Vertok. But this was one of the few scenarios where being safe really was better than being sorry.
“You wish to be strong, hm?” Artemis lifted a paw, placing it against her chin in thought. While she did feel that him at least learning what a drought was would be a little bit more beneficial for him as he was currently, she didn’t wish to immediately drive him away with what would likely be considered a boring lesson. He expressed his wishes of what he wanted to start with; she would be letting down the reputation she had already gained with him if she ignored what he wanted. Especially as their mentorship was just beginning.
“As you wish, little owl. But, first-” Before she continued, her large paws pushed forward, lifting herself from where she laid across the ground into a sitting position. Though she towered over the young pup, she did lower her head just a smidge so that he did not have to peer up so high and she did not have to look down so low. “-I still owe you a part of our deal.” She offered a smile to the pup, lifting her head and locking her own gaze with his. “My name is Artemis.”
She lightly nodded her head; not quite a bow, but more a nod of greeting, as though they had just officially met for the first time. During their first meeting, she had parted from the pup with her name left a mystery and the promise that if he came to see her once more today, she would allow him to know her name. And, as she had hoped, he held up his end of the deal.
“Now. There are many ways that I could teach you strength. Physical strength, mental strength, endurance. There are many possibilities. But, I cannot truly begin training you until I know where we are starting from. I must see what you are already capable of in order to teach you what comes next. So, little owl, show me your best battle stance.”
"Speaking." Thinking.

It's all so close and yet so far "Yes!" The words were out of Zero's mouth without hesitation when she asked him if he wanted to be strong. He wanted to be a warrior! He wanted to be best out there so that the moment he found his father again, because of course he would, he could give him something to be proud of and maybe regret ever leaving. Though it the little boys too big heart he held the ideal that his father was a noble man who left his family in order to protect them and when he'd return from his mission he'd be distraught to know his mate was dead but oh so happy to see his children grown into fine wolves ready to take on the world.
He hung on every word that the she wolf spoke, eyes big as moons as he sunk in the promises she was weaving. She wasn't like the adults of his own pack trying to protect him instead of letting him face the world and grow up at his own pace. "Artemis." He found himself repeating the name, feeling a sense of familiarity tickle is still developing brain but brushed it aside. It was a powerful name and it made him believe that if she was his teacher he would be powerful too. He was about to tell her his name when he realized what she already knew it, mouth snapping shut as he continued to focus on what she was telling him, head nodding along like the perfect student.
"Battle stance!" The little boy shouted, launching himself on all four paws, tail raising in the air like a flag while his head lowered between his shoulders and his lips rippled back to show off his oh so scary teeth.

It always did bring a flicker of pride when all signs pointed to her plans following through flawlessly. When there was no shadow of a doubt that she had done what she intended to. And, just from this young brute’s enthusiasm and readiness for the next step, it was clear that her efforts had never been in vain.
The little white wolf was quite eager to follow the instructions given to him, his body leaping into action at her command, bringing a small smile to her maw. Obedience was always a perk. She watched his movements closely, taking note of his speed, his posture, his footing, any sound he made. There were many aspects of a battle stance alone that could make all the difference when in a real situation of danger. And this young one would have to learn those things if he wanted to go anywhere.
She slowly stood, lifting herself from where she sat and padding closer to the pup. Though her size would likely make it difficult for him to look up at her, that was not something that was needed, for he needed to be looking forward, to his invisible enemy. Large paws took her in a slow half circle around the little wolf, examining him. As she rounded him and came to his other side, she lifted a large paw and placed it on his rear which was lifted in the air and tail held high, gently pushing down just slightly.
“Keep your back legs bent, but steady, and your rear low. You must be ready to leap at any moment.” Her eyes peered down towards his paws, taking note of their position and spacing. “Your paws should be spread apart, but not wide enough to stop you from moving quickly. You should be able to lean in any direction at will, should you need to.” She slowly came around the front of him, stopping just ahead with her side facing him.
Her eyes watched him carefully, taking in the face that he put on and the aura that he gave off. He was young, and naive, and had no worldly experience. Just as most pups, he required molding and teaching. He did not know the true feeling of battle, the rush of adrenaline when life was at stake, whether it be your own or someone else’s. Unfortunately she had no way of truly giving him a taste of this experience without…well…attacking him. Which wasn’t exactly the route she was intending to take. Instead, it would be best to lead by example.
She walked forward again, standing alongside the pup facing the same direction. She adjusted her stance, lowering her body towards the ground but keeping her head and eyes forward. Her tail pointed straight back away from her rear and her back legs were, as she had instructed of him, bent, but steady in their stance and balance. Her front legs too were bent, but were spread just enough that it gave her solidity on uneven ground. Her head was lowered to match the level of her shoulders, eyes narrowed, sharp, and trained ahead to an unseen combatant.
“Remember, in the event of battle, confidence is important, but confidence alone will not gain you a win on its own. You must be balanced, stable, prepared. Ready for anything your enemy may attempt to gain advantage over you.” Her eyes narrowed, honing in on a particular patch of yellow grass just ahead, swaying gently against the light wind of dusk. “Your eyes must never waver. Even a second without sight on those who wish to do you harm could cost you your life. You must see them, watch them, know what they will do before they know themselves.” There was a chance that he would not understand, and she could not expect him to. But he would, in time.
“Strength in battle is not just physical strength. It is stability, it is durability, it is an observant eye.”
"Speaking." Thinking.

It's all so close and yet so far Zero's eyes followed as the larger wolf circled around him, he wanted to watch her every move but something in the back of his mind warned him to stay still and for once he listened to that voice, staying still until her paw was on him, pushing him down. His body reacting before he could think and her voice echoed above him. He remained quiet, focusing in on her instructions. He wanted to do this right, deep inside him there was a pull in his gut to listen and make this woman proud as she took her time to teach him, focus on him like no one else had in his pack. The thoughts in his mind reasoning that this had to be because this powerful being was meant to be his parent, not the she wolf back in Vertok lands that was supposed to act as his foster mother, a woman that was too busy to notice his sneaking off.
He remained focused as she came next to him, trying to keep his gaze ahead of him as if he was waiting for some kind of attack, he didn't anticipate anything coming from the other wolf with him. His gaze did dart over to her as she changed her stance and started to speak again. When he realized she wasn't looking at him his eyes followed her gaze to patch of yellowing grass. Zero stared at it as she continued to speak, wondering how he was supposed to guess what his enemy was going to do but he felt like now wasn't the time for him to talk. He looked to Artemis again, studying her stance before starting to match himself to her and looked at the grass, eyes narrowing.
"Observant eye..." He repeated slowly, eyes tracking the swaying of the grass as his muscles started to ache from being tensed for so long, making his form start to shake but he kept position, squeezing his jaw together as he tried to focus on the grass swaying left, right left, right, left-the little pup suddenly darted forward as if on springs, he aimed for the grass, so focused that he didn't notice a rock jutting up from the ground until his paw caught on it, tripping and sending him tail over head, rolling across the grass until he came to a stop, flat on his back with his legs sticking up in the air as pain radiated from his front paw but he was too dazed, staring up at the sky as his vision swam.

Oddly enough, though she spoke of these actions to the young one, Artemis had not truly expected for the young brute to leap forward as he did. His sights had shifted towards the same patch of yellowed grass she had begun to observe, though he seemed to think this his cue to leap forward as if this one patch of grass were an animal of prey. She may have thought highly of his actions and his efforts…had they actually been worth while.
His stride was lacking in precision or intention, his leap was hardly powerful enough to do any damage, and his landing…it was pitiful. The large she-wolf watched with a mixture of amusement and disappointment as the white pup’s tail and rear went flying right over his head, flipping him through the patch of grass and just over the small incline of the hill. She rose from her well-practiced stance she had shown him, standing there for a moment as the pup’s rolls came to a stop.
Large paws padded forward slowly, stopping just above the pup’s head. Her own head angled downward above his, looking down at him in his daze, though she masked the expression that had been present across her features before. Amusement and disappointment were replaced with something else, perhaps sympathy, or maybe pity. But her voice, when she spoke, sounded optimistic enough.
“Well done. T’was a good first attempt. Though, perhaps grass is not the best first opponent.” Golden eyes lifted and peered around them, gazing at the tall dried grass that surrounded them. There were no others around, beyond her Aces, though she felt it best not to involve them in this scenario. This pup was not aware of who’s presence he was within, nor were the Aces aware of what company their Alphess was keeping. And she felt it best to keep it this way. For now, at least. And, with a quick breath, it was easy to tell that there was no prey close enough for them to hunt properly. They didn’t have many options, unfortunately. Well…perhaps…
Her gaze turned back down to the pup, waiting for him to rise from his fallen position. “I believe I have a better idea.”
The large wolfess turned and padded a few strides away from the pup, pausing and lifting her tail if he began to follow in order to keep him where he stood. She did not go far, just far enough to be a couple leaps and bounds away, before she turned back towards him.
“I cannot truly see what you are capable of when you face nothing more than plants. You must face a real opponent. One that can dodge, one that can surprise you.”
With this, the large white wolfess slowly shifted her body, returning to the same pose that she had demonstrated to him before, narrowing her gaze to lock on to his, and she did not merely speak, she ordered.
“Charge me.”
"Speaking." Thinking.
