General Information
Full Name: Jay Allyn
Alias(es): Ghost
Gender: Male
Age: 6 Years
Pack: Loner
Rank: N/A at the moment
Appearance
Jay is nothing spectacular to look at, being a rather unremarkable nearly all-white wolf. More notable however is that he is rather sizable and fit wolf, measuring in at 40 inches and 140 lbs. This, along with the many scars he bears across his body but most prominently on the left side of his face surrounding the cloudy, white, and sightless, left eye would perhaps make for an intimidating figure. With time fur has begun to grow back in places, masking what remains of old wounds, but they will always be visible.
Reputation + Personality
As with most of his family, and perhaps contradictory to what his appearance might suggest, Jay is a warm-hearted, compassionate, and benevolent man. He is selfless and particularly protective of those he cares about, to an extent that can negatively affecting his own physical or mental health. Due to experience and age, he has grown better at relating to and empathizing with others, as well as providing care and mentorship to younger wolves that might need it. He is generally an amicable, outgoing wolf that may come across at times as a little too unserious and a bit of a tease. The man enjoys a good conversation, along with jokes, banter, play, even a bit of flirting - though most of it lighthearted and never done maliciously or meant to be disrespectful. Though a proud wolf, Jay is not unwilling to exercise a bit of humility and apologize if he believes he's hurt or wronged someone - provided he's aware of it.
An aging male and affected by the loss of sight in one eye, Jay is aware of his disadvantages but no less confident in his capabilities because of it - which may at times be to his detriment, especially where quickness and dexterity are needed. While he has learned to compensate for his compromised vision, there are still occasions when things like objects or a slight dip in the terrain will go unnoticed, and may cause Jay appear clumsy as he is known to occasionally bump into things and lose his balance, perhaps even his footing in more extreme circumstances. For the most part he has made peace with this, though Jay is hesitant to allow anyone to stand or walk along on his bad side. This, along with anyone poking fun at the disability can act as a trigger for him - prompting an otherwise kindly wolf to become annoyed or even angry rather quickly.
This, along with passing of his mate of nearly three years however, Jay carries with him a significant amount of emotion - primarily guilt, and sadness that he keeps locked within that may prompt him to act more emotionally or brashly than he otherwise would have. He is aware that he could do nothing to combat her illness, nor to save her, though this does not stop the guilt. It is clear when he is pressed that he has not allowed himself time for proper grievance. As for now his focus and goal is singular - to find Hawk and bring him home.
Or to at very least, make sure he is safe.

While life for the Allyn family hasn't always been easy, it has almost always been good and rewarding even amidst the various challenges presented over the years. Born to a smaller, but closely knit group largely comprised of family and close friends, Jay was the only son ever blessed to his parents, who had been struggling to conceive. As a young wolf, Jay was granted everything a child could wish for. Food, water, a stable home, along with parents and family who doted upon and loved him dearly. It therefore came as a disappointment when at a young age, Jay displayed a passion for exploration and adventure rather than simple pack duties. It was expected of him to become the unofficial sort of heir apparent to the loose hierarchical structure his familial group - but he appeared to show no interest. While he performed every task or duty asked of him without complaint, it was readily apparent that his heart was not in it.
So at the tender age of one-and-a-half, the young Allyn set out to explore the world on his own terms. And for several months he did exactly that, seeking thrills and knowledge and any new places that interested him. Along the way however, Jay would eventually cross a young woman and a few members of her family who'd been displaced from their home and were struggling. Unable to walk away and refuse aid, he would guide them back to his birthplace where the group settled in and the families mingled well. The lady's name was Aspen, and despite differences in personality - Jay being rather jovial and care free, while Aspen was far more grounded and serious, a bond developed between the two of them. This would morph into a mateship that would last nearly three years, only ending due to an unknown illness that would cut Aspen's life short.
The fires of romance were lit, and it wasn't more than a couple of months before Jay faced perhaps the most challenging thing he'd ever known - fatherhood. It was a role he stepped into eagerly, alongside the de facto leader of the familial group, much to the delight of his parents. While a very small part of him was disappointed to have left behind his nomadic lifestyle, Jay found pleasure in pack duties now that he had a family and children to care for - something he still considers his greatest accomplishment, as well as an incredible honor and achievement.
Jay's most notable scars were earned when the children were all rather young. A cougar mistakenly believed the three pups would make for an easy meal, a mistake for which it gave its life - but not before robbing the new father of half of his vision for the remainder of his life. Though recovery proved challenging at times, motivated by love for his new family Jay was able to adapt and adjust, and for a long while after that fate was relatively kind and life good for the familial group.
It wasn't until the following summer that hardship would strike again, in the form of drought, fire, and resource scarcity. This lead to conflict with other groups of wolves, the death of Aspen's brother, and the near death of one of Jay's children. As soon as injuries had mended the group decided it was time to move on. In the ensuing hardship though, fire would eventually split the group, and while most were able to reunite, Jay and Aspen's only son, Hawk was nowhere to be found. Days of searching never lead to any sign of him be it a trail, remains, or otherwise. Reluctantly the group chose to move on and eventually settled elsewhere, hoping he'd eventually find them and catch up. Although they were able to begin life anew in relative peace, the disappearance of their son never stopped haunting either Jay or Aspen.
Aspen would become ill in their third year of mateship with a disease that caused her to deteriorate physically into almost nothing. There seemed nothing anyone could do. It was Aspen's dying wish for Jay to once more try to hunt down their wayward son, and either ensure his safety or bring him home. After her passing, Jay said his goodbyes to his daughters and their family, all of them knowing his intent to search for Hawk.
And the possibility that said search might prevent him from ever returning to them again
