I know I always come and go Maxem did not respond until he was almost high enough in the tree to be equal with the other brute, taking his time to test out the branch, pressing down at it with his paw to ensure it was sturdier than the last before settling on it and turning his attention back to Revan, a smile tugging his lips up.
Draconian, the was a word he wasn't familiar with that was for sure but it didn't seem like a positive word by the way he said it. He shrugged his shoulders in return, "I have my own identity, it's just not that...appreciated." He knew that wasn't that great of an explanation but it was as far as he wanted to go. Though he wasn't treated well the Vertok was still a place that allowed him a home.
His eyebrow raised as he was called puny, he couldn't deny that and besides it wasn't like he was wrong, he knew he was small in stature and could only do so much. "she probably did Romeo but obviously that doesn't stop me from climbing. Not everyone can get me when I'm up here and you seem cemented in place."

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley With red eyes trained on the hapless man, Revan rose back into a straight-edged sitting position. Laying down during a conversation (while on equal ground - or limb - at least) hardly seemed appropriate with a stranger. At least so far, he didn't have anything against Maxem, but still, he was rarely comfortable around wolves on their first meeting, and so he sat rigidly with a neutral expression.
"I have my own identity, it's just not that...appreciated." Revan's ears flicked back, his frown deepening before he schooled it back to neutrality. Something about those words struck a chord with him, and he thoughtfully hummed as he analyzed them. "I suppose I can relate." He responded laconically. After all, very few genuinely appreciated his company or his identity as a whole. Arsa was the exception, and sure, this fellow seemed to take him in good spirits, but who was Revan to assume anything but polite tolerance? But then again, maybe he was simply assuming the worst. After all, Maxem likely wouldn't have said that if he didn't have similar thoughts.
The treehugger's mischievous attitude seemed to contradict his words just moments before, however, making Revan narrow his sharp eyes at him. Why, he wondered? Was this man happy or emotionally crumbling? He couldn't tell, but it wasn't his job to be the man's therapist. His nose wrinkled a little at the name Romeo, not quite liking the sound of that one, so he decided to retaliate tenfold. "Hmph," Revan huffed at his statement about climbing. "Then you must be as much of a fool as I first took you for, Margaret." His tone fell completely flat, and it was likely hard to tell if he meant this as a joke or not, but that wasn't Revan's concern. His attention was caught by Maxem's last comment, of being cemented in place. At this, Revan brought himself to stand upright on tall legs, fluid and effortless in motion and balance. The corner of his lip tipped upwards in the most subtle of smirks, and his tail flicked as a challenge. With crimson eyes partially lidded, he asked - no, challenged: "Are you certain of that?"
"This is Revan speaking. This is Revan thinking which is dangerous. Moon don't glow beneath these trees - hopefully I read maxem's comment correctly Abyss

In the silence that grew for a moment between them Maxem's mind started to wander, his gaze turning up towards the slivers of blue sky peaking between the stretching branches of the trees. At Revan's voice his head snapped back to attention, eyes widening a little. He could relate? Sure this guy was a little rough around the edges but he was definitely bigger than him and bound to be stronger, what was there not to appreciate? "Really? Well at least I'm not alone there." He said in small gist.
His eyebrow quirked at the name Margaret, trying not to laugh. Before he could utter a word he watched as Revan rose up without much effort and threat to his balance, standing on the tree limb as if it were nothing, the action sending a slimy finger of envy down his spine that he tried to ignore, but it seemed to sink its claws in deeper. He could detect the challenge underlying in his words, his lips peeling back in a slight smile, "yes."

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley "Mm." He hummed at Whats-His-Name's vague comment. Revan didn't have much else to say on the matter - he wasn't about to share in his own turbulence, nor was he about to ask for more details on what the pack wolf meant. He cared very little, and could already piece together an explanation from the previous comments he had made regarding his pack. Not his problem.
Instead, those sharp red eyes focused solely on the smaller man, a glint of something in them that could only spell disaster, knowing him. With his peripheral vision, Revan delicately walked forward on the fallen tree trunk. "You ought to not trust another in a tree." He spoke, a hint of a dare in his tone. Though, sharp brows furrowed at his own words - he never quite expected to hear himself say something like that. He was stalling, he knew, as he hadn't planned much further than watch me prove you wrong. A quick glance down and he noticed a limb of the dead tree jutting out beside the one that Maxem found himself on, and Revan made his way onto it with only a hope that it would support his weight, and rounded to Maxem's side. His lips were held in a neutral frown, eyes watching his footing, seemingly disinterested...
...until ruby red flashed up to meet the eyes of Maxem, and a chaotic grin showed sharp teeth just moments before Revan swung around and launched himself at the wolf. He would attempt to tackle him and send the both of them careening to the ground, and twist them around mid-air so that he landed first and at least take the brunt of the impact, should he succeed. The man fell once already and lived, after all, he could do it one more time.

Maxem frowned at the other male, wondering if he was planning something or what exactly was going on. He had naively thought this had been a friendly interaction with some banter thrown back and forth but something was making his fur stand on end as the other came closer to him. "Why would you-ack!" Before he knew what was going on the other man launched at him like some kind of psychopath. What was he thinking? They'd both end up going down and Maxem didn't want to be stuck eating dirt again but it seemed like he didn't have a choice as their bodies collided, knocking him out of the tree.
His paws may have been good for climbing and his body lithe enough to maneuver but didn't seem to help him in the moment as his brain screamed out the word panic. Maxem tried to twist, turn, do anything but they were dropping too fast and his body hit the ground with a loud thud, knocking the wind out of his chest and pain to strike through his side and head where impact had been made and he swore stars were swirling in his vision. "Ugh..." he groaned, "you're...." he gasped, "and asshole...Ras...putin."

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley To say that Revan hadn't planned this far ahead would be an understatement. With him and this stranger hurtling to the ground, he hadn't as much time to maneuver as he would have liked - using his momentum to arch around and place his own body between Maxem's and the ground, but not fully enough to take the whole brunt of the impact. A grunt escaped him as he collided with soil dry and hard; yet another thing he had failed to consider. Revan, naturally being Revan, was swift to roll and hop to his paws even though his head, shoulders, and back screamed at him for it. Although he had no choice but to let his eyes re-focus, he wouldn't be caught vulnerable on the ground like some foolish weakling.
A pointed ear swiveled to the one who was still lying on the ground, insulting him between gasps. Touche. Revan cleared his throat hoarsely and rolled his shoulders back to compose his posture. "Yes." He responded shortly, unable to argue against the point. Even to myself...
Upon recovering fully Revan walked over to the man, standing over him with a faint, amused smirk and the quirk of a sharp brow. "Relax your core." He advised shortly. He had been injured enough times to at least understand what to do when the wind was knocked out of him; sharing that was the least courtesy he could offer, having been the cause of it this time. And despite his reckless, insensitive actions that led them to this, Revan found that he didn't mind the smaller man so much. He amused him, at the very least, so Revan didn't desire to see him suffer entirely. "And do not let your guard down so easily. Even trees cannot protect you from everything."
It wasn't Revan's intent to frighten him or any such thing, but to teach what he would have thought to be an obvious fact of life - trust nothing. It is at least what he had grown to believe, and if the pack Maxem was from treated him as poorly as he made it seem, then this strange little lesson may prove him well in the future.

If he could, Maxem would grumble some more but his chest was still aching and he was putting most of his focus on inhaling and exhaling the best that he could. He was sure that after all of this the other fellow would leave him behind to regain his bodily functions but instead he took him by surprise, instructing him on what to do.
His gaze flicked up the black and red wolf who had drawn up to his feet with out any form of visible trouble, making some envy wash through Maxem. Why couldn't he be that resilient? Probably for the same reasons that he couldn't keep up his energy enough to be an actual hunter, the very thing that kept him from being what had been expected of him when he was young.
Despite the swirling thoughts he managed to listen, relaxing his core as he continued to take more focused breaths even with the constant aches pulsing through his body. It took him a few moments until he was finally able to get his paws under him and push up to at least sit, shooting Revan a less than please look. "Well until now no one else has been able to get to me up there." He said, feeling the envy turn into embarrassment but then again, no one tried to get to him, they all just ignored him unless it was time to hunt and they needed scouting to be done.
