Reputation + Personality
Think of a big Monk like character who goes through life making everyone feel intimidated but doesn't realize it as he lumbers around.
Oblivious- At first look this giant man is rather intimidating. He could easily use his weight to bulldoze over others and he has no idea that the way he looks makes other feel this way. He is a lovable oaf that is always in a jolly mood and sometimes he doesn't realize that he needs to be gentle in his manners, yes it is pretty common for him to accidentally knock over another wolf when trying to give them a good pat on the back.
Guilt Ridden- He isn't proud of his past and all that has taken place there. It has a dark hold on his heart and sometimes the guilt shows itself in his eyes but he does his best to not acknowledge it. It's easy enough during the day when he has so much to distract him, it's at night when his mistakes come back to haunt him
Caring- Milo doesn't hesitate when it comes to giving aid and has a soft heart. He will be your shoulder to cry on-whatever you need. He puts others first and would rather focus on others than himself. He is kind to all of the forests creatures and it isn't out of the ordinary for him to be followed by little birds or energetic squirrels or other rodents. He has a gentle nature and will help any being in need, even after leaving someone he will still think of them fondly and hope that they are doing okay in their lives.
Outgoing- Milo isn't apprehensive when meeting others. He is friendly to most creatures. The only time he lashes out is when he's hunting and due to his size he doesn't have much stamina so most of his diet is comprised of plant matter, fish, and carrion that he finds laying about. Only when he is really desperate will he go off at a run to try to catch something. He has a kind heart and isn't afraid to try to make new friends.
Calm- When someone is having a problem or is feeling their emotions strongly, Milo doesn't let him affect him. He has an era of calm around him and it is reflected in his thoughtful voice and mannerisms when interacting with another. He likes to be their emotional rock, something solid they know is always there.
Secretive- Although Milo always has an ear ready for someone to vent to, it's rare that he shares his past-much of which he holds heavy guilt about. He isn't proud of who he was and would rather not let others know about it. He fears for the day his past comes back to haunt him, it's one of the reasons he is always wandering.
History
Au'dar blood courses through him. He was born with the name Alesso, meaning "protector of the people" he was destined to be a powerful warrior like his father and was trained to do so from birth. He was cocky and arrogant. He believed he was the best, the strongest, he was going to shoot through the ranks. He was abrasive and full of himself. he wasn't afraid to push others around to get his way. Back then his body was taunt with muscle and he was fast. He excelled in his training, though there were concerns for his attitude. He often wanted to play hero. His mother, a sweet Healer Garde tried to correct him but he blew her off. The only time he listened to his mother was when she taught him about healing. He wouldn't admit it-afraid of being called soft-but he was intrigued by healing and liked the idea of being able to help others, but like everything else it took the back burner to his warrior training. He was a warrior apprentice and on his Coming-of-Age Ceremony he recited his pledge with pride, a smirk on his face as he thought f the amazing Tafa he was about to find. No doubt it would be a rare one, he believed he would be blessed with a Coatimundi or a Raccoon-both versatile and able to hold their own in a fight or maybe a massive Eagle that could swoop down and exact vengeance. He burst into the Citadel with determination and of course-arrogance.
He stalked through the area, looking for the biggest, baddest Tafa. Snapping at the little Chinchilla that scurried after him. The fluff ball was so annoying that he almost turned and ripped the little thing in half, but he knew better and ignored it. He was in the Citadel for hours, searching every nook and cranny for his Tafa but as night began to fall so did the horrifying realization: the fluff ball that was still hot on his trail, panting from exhaustion, was his Tafa. How embarrassing! How was he supposed to be a warrior with such a cute little fluffy thing? He stared in horror as the exhausted thing clambered up his hind leg and nestled into the lump between his shoulders. He sighed and walked out of the Citadel, ears catching the snickers of his peers who enjoyed watching his confidence get knocked down a few pegs.
From that day he acted like he didn't have a Tafa. He didn't even name the thing, it was his mother who named the loyal Chinchilla Valerie, meaning brave and valiant. He scoffed at the name but the little creature was thrilled. It ignored the hatred that was shown to it, being a loyal as they took on their duties together. He became a warrior and his ways didn't change. He was ready for a fight and one day he got one that changed his life forever.
He wasn't on patrol, instead he accompanied his mother and her Tafa, a sleepy Turtle, on a voyage for healing supplies. He was able to convince his Mom to go towards the border, insisting there were rarer supplies out there and his mother agreed. She trusted her son, she trusted all of her children, so she went with him. Alesso held his head high, scanning the surroundings while Valerie was cuddled against his neck, he wouldn't admit it, but the puff ball was growing on him. He walked along the peremiter, leaving his mother on her own-a fatal mistake. One minute all was calm and the next there was a shriek. Alesso turned and bolted to the sound of the scream, coming upon a bloody scene. His mother was laying across the blood soaked grass and her pleading eyes met her sons. This was his moment. Alesso charged at this rogue wolf that had torn open his mothers belly, its maw covered in gore and jaws crunching into the terrified turtles shell. Rage boiled in Alesso and he threw himself into this rogue, not thinking to call for reinforcements against this much bigger opponent. The rogue was older and wasn't afraid to fight dirty. He ended the turtles life with a hard crunch and engaged with Alesso. The two turned into a flurry of sharp teeth and claws, Alesso was focused. This is what he had been training for. He didn't let back until the rogue laid under him, lifeless. He stood over the body, panting, before running to his mother. But it was too late, her eyes were dull. She was dead. Alesso was frozen there, staring at her. He had failed, then he felt a cold spot on his neck and everything in him turned to ice. He whirled around, eyes panicked until finally falling on a lifeless grey fluff at the base of a tree. His heart folded in on himself as he stood there, he didn't know how long he was there, he barely noticed when pack reinforcements arrived.
At first they were concerned for him, until they saw the slain Valerie. Immediately Alesso was brought before the leaders of the pack and the Anima. Judgement was passed. Alesso was now a Dista. His irresponsibility lead to the death of his Tafa, the most abhorred act that showed he didn't take their culture seriously, it was like he rejected the pack. Alesso, at a loss stuck around the pack, taking in the angry looks and jabs. He was called a monster. Even his own siblings and fathers snapped at him, glared at him, told him he should be dead. He took this punishment for months, not knowing what to do until finally a small voice told him to leave. In the middle of the night he rose to his paws and left. For the first time in his life he was outside of the Au'Dar lands, completely alone. He ventured far off into the woods, taking to wandering. His only comfort was eating. He hunted and ate constantly, wallowing in self pity. Most in his case would end their problems with death, but Alesso decided to live in order to pay his debts. Because of him two Tafa and his mother were dead. Because of his arrogance and irresponsibility three lives were lost. He was no longer a strong hunter, growing in size and sadness until one night he had a vision. He was laying on a rock, gazing out over a lake when he saw a fuzzy shape seem to glide over the water to him. He stared as a small Chinchilla scuttled over and rubbed against him, an icy cold seeping through his fur and chilling his skin. "Valorie." He breathed as the ghostly being rubbed against his cheek and chittered, an overwhelming comfort washing over him, telling him it was okay, it was an accident. The ghostly creature stayed with him all night and when morning rose, disappeared with the dew. Alesso couldn't explain what happened but something in his heart lifted and told him to persevere and so...he did. A changed man he changed his name to Milo, meaning merciful, and continued his life of being a loner. Though he decided to help those in need. He cared for helpless birds and saved poor creatures who couldn't help themselves. Every time he helped another he felt his soul lighten and so that's how he continues his life.
He helps others and his mentality has changed to that of someone humble and kind. Someone ready to help and give love, someone that his mother and Tafa would be proud of.
