Appearance
Physical Description: His fur is a mixture of light and dark browns with a grey-nearly black-patch that ends at his shoulders and stretches up over his head and ears. It narrows down to a point on his face, shading around his muddy eyes like the mask of a raccoon. As your eyes travel to his chest and underbelly the fur is a light tan but it quickly turns green-stained from the algae and plant matter that served as his home when he was a young pup and adventurous teen. Reputation + Personality
Gruff- He isn't one to extend a kind paw, he doesn't welcome anyone with a smile. He would much rather be left alone to his own devices.
Reclusive- He is used to being alone, he isn't one to try to find a pack or a family. He doesn't need the heart ache that comes with genuine connection. Though that cloud of loneliness does follow him-he just does very well ignoring it.
Pessimistic- He doesn't see a reason in keeping hope. Everything is going to end eventually. He doesn't see himself as good company to anyone or worth the time spent in someone getting to know him.
Problem Solving- Having been alone for so long now, Ragnar has become skilled at solving his own problems. He thinks things through before jumping to conclusions and thinks of round about solutions to his problems.
Intelligent- Though he seems like a back woods wolf living in a primitive fashion, Ragnar is smarter than he looks.
Adept Swimmer- He is able to hold his breathe under water for extended amount of times. He is more nimble in the water than on land. Murky and dangerous looking water doesn't phase him. He does fairly well in keeping himself a float and using the water to his advantage.
History
Judging by the long drawl in his voice and the green staining of his fur, it's obvious Ragnar is not a native to this land. He grow up in a valley that was completely swamp land in a rather small, close knit pack. They swam the thick muddy water over grown with plants like they were nothing, the water was home and the earth was only good for sleeping and the raising of pups.
Ragnar's parents were simple folk who doted on him and his brother Rohan, The two were confidants in each other, the best of friends, they were there for each other through thick and thin until Ragnar fell in love with Lily. The feelings were mutual between the two of them, but unknown to Ragnar, Rohan had always had a flame for Lily and seeing his brother with his only love made Rohan hate Ragnar.
Instead of speaking with him, Rohan left in the middle of the night and was never to be seen again. The loss of him made his parents sad, they were ashamed that their son had left such a tight knit pack that valued family above all else. Them losing Rohan made them like black sheep, which resulted in many ignoring them, even when the two elders fell ill.
Ragnar did all he could to save and heal his parents but it was no use, they passed after a few weeks. Ragnar was lost without them, but at least he had Lily. The two were still a young couple, no pups yet, but they were in the plan...until Lily got sick. Her symptoms were identical to his parents and Ragnar tried to treat her, but nothing worked.
Lily passed soon after and one by one this mysterious illness claimed the lives of every pack member until only Ragnar remained. He didn't understand it, he waited to fall ill but it never came to claim his life. Instead he was left in that swamp by himself, he buried each corpse with care but by the end all he saw was a grave yard, he had to leave. Ragnar set off on his own, leaving his only home and still having no idea as to where his brother went and why he left.
In this new land Ragnar found a small bog that he calls his home, digging out a den between hallow logs and spends most of his day waiting for death to claim him.
