Jethr0 - Sanzin Joker
Credit
General Information
Alias(es): Jet
Gender: Male
Age: 2 years
Pack: Sanzin
Rank: Joker
Appearance
A small, agile individual, Jethro stands only about 28 inches in height and weighs in at around 75 pounds, when he's lucky enough to keep himself decently well fed. His coat is largely darker in color, made up of different hues of black and brown, with bits of white and grey mixed in and most predominantly found along his belly, paws, and chin. His eyes are a golden color, and thought at times they may reflect his infrequent sessions of defiance, more often than not are bleak with defeat. Jethro's posturing lacks any sort of confidence or stature, reflective of his lowly position within the Sanzin. More often than not he appears as a quiet, downcast, submissive individual, lost and forgotten in the background amidst many wolves vying for power. Look closely enough and one will find a plethora of various scars and markings that adorn his body from events past, with more to likely be earned as he ages.
Reputation + Personality
Like many Sanzin, Jethro will appear to be a cold and emotionally distant individual, one who is unsympathetic and not at all concerned with the welfare of anyone, sometimes even including himself. Jethro’s manner of speech among all wolves, including other Sanzin, will likely be rather blunt, unpleasant, with the occasional dose of sarcasm thrown in for good measure. Told from birth that he has no value or worth among them, or with anyone, this has secured him a spot amongst the lowest of the low in the Sanzin - and his attitude, along with his small stature, has perpetuated this misfortune.
A victim of fate and of his own actions, disregarded by almost everyone, Jethro is the perfect target for anyone seeking to vent frustrations, or simply those with a cruel streak. In spite of the trouble he tends to get himself into, Jethro is and can be more tactful than one might initially expect, and is aware, at least on some level that he tends to exacerbate his punishments or bring greater harm to himself when he lashes out or talks back. It is not uncommon for him to become defiant, insubordinate, and audacious in his words or actions, even when sorely outmatched - although insolence is growing less common.
He simply does not seem to care, some might even say he has a death wish. For he is broken, he is an accident, he is worthless. He deserves pain. Right?
Wholly untrusting of his own kind, what little solace or enjoyment he has, he finds observation of what nature has to offer, with exploration, especially of places some might consider inhospitable or treacherous, being perhaps Jethro’s few hobbies. It is rare for anyone to spare him more than a glance and rarer still that anyone should catch a glimpse of the hurt, loneliness, and sadness he keeps locked away within.
Jethro has become an adept fisherman and hunter of small game, skills he has needed to learn in order to feed himself. His smaller build lends him speed and agility, when he’s not half-starved or recovering from a recent punishment, that is. He is also a capable tracker, and with these skills, he attempts to regularly contribute to the hunter’s catches, though it is rare that his skill should be called upon by anyone or anything outside of this.
He has often contemplated leaving, and is not certain why he stays with the Sanzin. Perhaps because he knows nothing else, does not know where he would go anyway, and does not believe he would be accepted elsewhere or find himself worthy of any sort of life beyond what he has.
History
An accident, unintended, Jethro was the single sickly son born to a mother that had never wanted pups. Consequently, like many in the Sanzin he was largely cast aside by his mother, spared only for the eventual purpose of being a servant for the Sanzin, which he has certainly become. Like many in the pack, his childhood was anything except pleasant.
Although at first, he tried to advance, it never seemed to lead anywhere. He was too small or weak to fight back. An accident, they called him. A runt. Worthless. A bastard child, who’s own mother would have nothing to do with him, kept alive and destined only to be a lowly slave to the pack. Realizing his fate, Jethro closed himself off to everyone, including himself. Although still defiant at times, he has recognized he will never know any better, and grudgingly accepts his pitiful existence and punishments. After all, he deserves it. And if nothing else, this existence means he has developed a high tolerance for pain.
